Once you are admitted to the Labor and Delivery Unit, your labor progress will be monitored regularly. In addition, continuous fetal monitoring enables your obstetrician to carefully watch your baby’s heart rate.
Nurses will assist you with a variety of comfort measures such as walking, showering and relaxation. An anesthesiologist is on call 24 hours daily to provide pain relief or anesthesia for delivery.
We believe in family-centered birth and encourage your partner to be by your side during the delivery.
During labor you will be in one of our ten private birthing rooms (LDRs) which allow you to labor, deliver, and recover in the same room with a warm homelike setting.
A CD player, VCR, TV, refrigerator, private showers, and state-of-the-art obstetrical equipment are available in each room. You may want to pack a favorite movie or CDs in anticipation of your labor.
